About Hakuba Guide

Hakuba Guide is run by Treasure Hunting Co., Ltd., a small company based in Nagaizumi, Shizuoka, Japan. We are not the village or city office and not the tourism board. We write in English for people who do not read Japanese.

How we write

• Each guide answers one question a visitor actually has: how to get there, what a place is, what to do when something goes wrong.
• Facts come from public sources: local government, the prefecture, national agencies and the transport companies themselves. We list them at the end of each guide with the date we read them.
• If we cannot check something, we leave it out and say what we left out. We do not invent opening hours, prices or reviews.
• We publish at most one new guide a day. Rules and timetables change; when we find a guide is out of date, we fix it and show the new date.
• Businesses can be listed in our directory for free. Being listed does not buy a mention in a guide.

Photos

We only use photos whose terms clearly allow reuse (for example, the Japanese government's Public Data License or CC BY), and we credit them on the page.

Corrections

If something here is wrong, please tell us through the same form (choose “other” and describe the error). We check and correct it.
